I believe a wedding, as much as possible, should be made your absolute own.
This is the one time I believe you should throw what’s “traditional” out the window. Your unique personality, your unique vision, and your unique creativity is the putty. And this putty is molded by the hands of yourself and your significant other into a momentous life event. As ironic as it may sound of going untraditional with this age-old tradition of ours, the unification of two tiny human beings on an even tinier spinning planet, I want to ask ‘why not?’.
As grand, as beautiful, and as extravagant as you want to go… do it. As minimal, as intimate, and as “low key” as you want to go… do it. What’s right is right.
It’s almost akin to the act of giving someone a gift. Sometimes you just know EXACTLY what to get someone to make them happy… it could be the keys to a brand new Mercedes OR it could be as small as a little keychain from a cheesy gift shop from a small town. What’s right is right.
I guess what I’m trying to get at is that a wedding is almost like a gift to yourself. You know what’s right for you.
With all that being said… I absolutely love what Lindsey & Matt planned. It was simple, intimate, and most importantly heart felt. The fact that it was on Christmas Eve was just a bonus.
Enjoy!
