Fun fact: While being a ninja and photographing them when they left the restaurant, which involved ducking, weaving, and hiding behind parked cars, I was approached by a very concerned woman.
“Oh my god… is he… is he cheating on his wife?… Are you a private detective gathering evidence?”
“Ha, no he’s actually about to propose. You should stick around, you’ll help cover me as we pretend to talk.”
In hindsight, it’s rather peculiar why she immediately assumed the guy was the adulterous one having an affair, but that’s another story. This story involves an unsuspecting girl named Jess, a very meticulous planner named Nick, and my good friend Ro from All Things Pretty.
It also needs to be stated that, apparently Nick is such a great boyfriend all the time, he routinely pampers Jess so much that even when he booked a make-up and hair artist for her just to look good for “dinner”, she was very un-phased and unsuspecting. Wow eh? So I went under the disguise in the afternoon of just taking photos of the hair & make-up for Ro’s new website, and after that, I went complete incognito to capture everything.
Special shout out to Sydney Hodge for being the violinist, to the staff at The Hazelton Hotel, and the staff at Sassafraz restaurant in Yorkville. When I said that Nick was a very meticulous planner, you have no idea, but I loved his creative proposal ideas and I’m glad everything worked out.
