This past year has been pretty freakin’ incredible. We’re so grateful for the amazing people we’ve met, as well as the stunning places we got to see and experience – all because we happen to know our way around a camera. It’s actually pretty mindblowing when we think about it.
2018 marked the official kick-off year for the Mariner Agency. When we decided to merge our wedding photography businesses together, we weren’t too sure what to expect. We’d found success in our individual photography careers, but this was like starting from scratch and we felt some uncertainty in that mixed with a lot of excitement. We spent a lot of late nights planning and brainstorming – our office whiteboard looked like a Jackson Pollock painting at one point. Seriously. Late nights were followed by even earlier mornings where we had 12-hour wedding days ahead of us. Shoutout to Starbucks.
We flew to Los Angeles to capture our best friends’ engagement shoot in Malibu, had the chance to photograph Drake at an exclusive dinner function in Toronto, and in between it all, got to connect with so many couples and their real stories. We couldn’t have asked for a better first year. We’re so lucky we get to do this for a living… where every weekend we get a brief and intimate glimpse into the lives of two people. We get to know them, what makes them laugh, meet their families and their closest friends. Thank you for putting that trust in us. There’s not a day we take that for granted.
We’re stoked to do this all over again in 2019, but with fresh faces, new stories, and different scenery. Let us just catch up on a month’s worth of sleep first. Seriously, we really can’t thank you enough for being a part of our journey. Now the moment you guys have been waiting for – our favourite moments we captured from the past year.
